Chinese New Year!

So this Chinese New Year is the year of the Dragon!

Here is a little fun fact:

The Dragon is a symbol of good fortune and sign of intense power, the Oriental Dragon is regarded as a divine beast - the reverse of the malicious monster that Westerners felt necessary to find and slay. In Eastern philosophy, the Dragon is said to be a deliverer of good fortune and a master of authority. Therefore, those people born in Dragon years are to be honored and respected.

For one of our projects we are going to make Chinese Dragon Heads. This is what they will hopefully look like.

We are also going to make "Good Wishes" Posters. What you need is:

Get a red piece of construction paper.
Black Paint (watered down to make it look like ink)
Gold Glitter
School Glue (Liquid)
Paint Brushes
and simple Chinese charaters (Love,Peace,Friendship, Ect...)

Get the red contruction paper and draw the chinese character of your choosing in the watered down black paint. Then after it dries outline the character in glue and sprinkle on the gold glitter.

And there you have it! Chinese New Year art projects. Have a a good day!

First Blog. Eeeee :D

So it's the big day before the kids are coming back to school....

Teachers pull up your britches and hang on.

The kids are gonna go crazy.

Parents get out your combs to untangle the mess of hair on your kids....if they have short hair, well then you're lucky(: This song is to put you in a relaxing mood before the crazy next months ahead.

So go on, indulge yourself,
that's right, kick off your shoes, put your feet up,
lean back and just enjoy the melodies.
After all, music soothes even the savage beasts...
